You can use one of the Lora32 boards without changes. Keep in mind: you need a 433MHz version!

Compiling and configuration

How to compile

The best success is to use PlatformIO. Go to PlatformIO, download and install the IDE. Import the project and you can compile the firmware.

Configuration

You can find all necessary settings in data/is-cfg.json. To upload it to your board, use the "Upload File System image" option in PlatformIO.

Branches and Version System

This firmware is developed in a rolling release system. New releases are created when the develop branch is stable enough to be merged into the master branch.

The version system is based on: major.minor.patch, where major is the current year, minor is the week of the year, and patch is for important fixes. For example, a release on Nov 14, 2020 would be version 20.46.0.

Hints

TTGO T-Beam V1.0/V1.1 and SSD1306 OLED

When adding an SSD1306 0.96" OLED display, be careful. There are two pinout versions. For direct mounting, you need a display with the pinout: VCC - GND - SCL - SDA. The other version requires changing VCC and GND by wire. More details can be found on the LoRa APRS Wiki Displays page.
